The development of the Waterfront has continues to gain momentum. The Mayor’s Office, the Planning Board, CDA and IDA along with many professionals from a wide-variety of disciplines, have worked cooperatively with RXR Glen Isle Partners to modify their plans to ensure that the waterfront reflects the character of our community while providing significant and lasting economic benefits.

Waterfront Redevelopment

The revitalized waterfront will consist of nearly 20 acres of publicly accessible parkland. Natural habitats will be restored and our City will have a waterfront to complement the downtown and our existing neighborhoods. Just recently, the DEIS (draft environmental impact statement) has been reviewed and accepted as complete by the City’s Planning Board which will soon begin public hearings as part of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). Members of the Planning Board and their professional consultants have put in hundreds of hours to achieve their objectives in getting this project before the public.
