Deputy Mayor Barbara Peebles engages the crowd at the 2015 Vision Long Island Conference.
Here at the City of Glen Cove we pride ourselves in being “large enough to serve you, but small enough to know you”. Our administration and staff are dedicated towards creating a business friendly environment throughout our City. Whether it is meeting with a proprietor of a potential new business or helping existing businesses expand, we are dedicated towards reducing red tape and spurring growth for all.
Over the past two years we have seen new business arrive and existing businesses expand. Since early 2014 we are proud to have welcomed over 45 new businesses which has created over 300 new jobs for our community. These new businesses include an eclectic mix of ethnic restaurants, shops, and professional services. New businesses are great, but we are just as fortunate to see many of our existing successful businesses expand into larger spaces right here in Glen Cove.
Glen Cove’s transit oriented residential development projects are finally moving forward, ensuring the continued growth of our business community. These projects will inject new energy into our downtown, providing new jobs and housing opportunities for our youthful generation. As these projects move forward, we expect to welcome many new and exciting businesses including interesting retail and entertainment venues.
In the coming weeks and months my office will be launching a Glen Cove Business Advisory Committee. This committee will work with our Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business Improvement District to further develop our business development strategies. Stay tuned.

“After two years in my Glen Street location, I felt now was the time to expand my business. My old space was only 1/4 of the size of my new location. School Street is great and we’re getting increased foot traffic at our new location. I’m looking forward to the future, especially considering the Piazza Project across the street and the growth of this Downtown community.” – Marlene Flores, Owner
Maryann Dance Studio
“After several years operating in Locust Valley I moved my dance studio, Maryann Dance Studio, to Glen Cove. Our location on Glen Street provides ample off street parking for our clients and we couldn’t be happier with our choice to operate here. It was the right time, and the right place. There is a lot happening in the Glen Cove right now and I look forward towards growing my business here.” – Caitlyn Rapelje, Owner
“I hope that Town Deli becomes a fixture of the growing Downtown Glen Cove Community. We saw what was happening here, and we wanted in. The City was great with providing guidance, and the various departments in City Hall helped us move this project along quickly. We did a total remodel of our School Street location in only a few short months and we’re proud to announce that Town Deli is open for business!” – Rich Inguanta, Owner
