Glen Cove Youth Bureau Presents After 3 Student Showcase

Youth Bureau after 3 Jan 2018 Mayor with group

Glen Cove, NY, February 1, 2018 … The Glen Cove Youth Bureau celebrated another successful After 3 Showcase which highlighted the creative endeavors of their after school program curriculum for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Students had the opportunity to present their projects, dance routines and cooking skills to their parents and special guests including Glen Cove Mayor Tim Tenke, Councilwoman Pamela Panzenbeck and Deputy Mayor Maureen Basdavanos.  The After 3 Showcase included multiple exhibitions by the children, such as art projects, Zumba performances and a food presentation encompassing healthy recipes they had been developing since last September. “Working with the theme, Through the Ages, the children crafted clay pots, wrote historic essays and even made cell phones out of cardboard,” said Spiro Tsirkas, Director of the Glen Cove Youth Bureau.  “The children take great pride in their projects and I always enjoy hearing their stories, watching their performances and tasting their special treats,” said Mayor Tenke.

The Glen Cove Youth Bureau will begin registration in April for their Summer After 3 program. For more information, please call the Glen Cove Youth Bureau Office at (516) 671-4600.
